1930 - The Società Anonima Lorilleux Clark Hartog Italiana ('SALCHI' for short) is set up in Milan by two renowned producers, one French and one English, of inks and enamels. The new concern specializes from the outset in the manufacture of inks and coatings.
1950 - Having made a name for itself in the naval sector, Salchi decides to diversify into the wood sector and becomes the very first company in Italy to manufacture polyester resin coatings.
1984 - The production of wood coatings is transferred in its entirety to the new plant at Romano D’Ezzelino, in the province of Vicenza.
1998 - The wood coatings arm of the company is acquired by BASF Coatings.
2004 - That same arm of the company was acquired by ICA, the leading Italian manufacturer of high-quality coatings and varnishes for wood.
One of the principal objectives of the new company, now called Salchi Wood Coatings, is to orchestrate the successful relaunch of the Salchi brand, a well-established name that has long been synonymous with quality and innovation.
A few months after the acquisition by the group, Salchi Wood Coatings attains UNI EN ISO 9001 Certification, which enables the accurate verification of the company's global processes.
2005 - The first Salchi-brand sales subsidiary opens in Germany. The facility is located in Heek and operates under the name Salchi Wood Coatings Deutschland.
2007 - The new Salchi sales subsidiary in Oderzo (Treviso) is inaugurated. The objective is to strengthen the presence of ICA Group in this part of Italy, and specifically in the Veneto region. The fact that this facility is staffed by highly qualified technicians makes it possible to offer clients a comprehensive, effective support service.
2009 - The Salchi industrial facility operates in full compliance with the UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System. In September, the facility passed the environmental inspection carried out by Certiquality, which encompassed the R&D, manufacturing, packaging and distribution of water-based and solvent-based coatings for wood that are produced via the phases of dosing, mixing, dispersion and grinding.
Today, Salchi Wood Coatings is a cutting-edge business with 66 employees, specializing in the manufacture of coatings and varnishes for wood. The company's headquarters and production plant are located on an 18,000 m2 site at Romano D'Ezzelino, in the province of Vicenza.
